Probably the most iconic bird of Costa Rica and much sought-after by birdwatchers and non-birdwatchers, I had failed dismally to get anything like a decent shot of one until I found an eye-level fruiting avocado tree. Early one morning I was there ans ready and in came this male. It was a memorable moment.
